John Irvine

Principal

As principal of JUSTconnect, john irvine combines marketing and communication expertise with a deep commitment to sustainability and social justice. As a result his consulting primarily focuses on mission-driven organizations. Because he consults at the nexus of sustainability and communication, clients take advantage of his environmental orientation alongside marketing skills honed in both international and domestic business. One day he’s training architects in China in the fundamentals of sustainable design and the next he’s promoting solutions to the affordable housing crisis in California.

Having worked with engineering and technical firms since the mid-80s, john is at home with energy behavior research or providing green building persuasion via the media. He spent a decade marketing green building services at CTG Energetics—a nationally known sustainability consulting firm. An active member of the National Organization of Minority Architects, he works every year on NOMA’s Project Pipeline Architecture and Engineering Summer Camp for students from untapped neighborhoods.
